Alan Bell is a graphic designer and publisher who founded the BLK Publishing Company and published a series of periodicals specifically for Black gays and lesbians. The collection contains materials from the BLK Publishing Company.
Black and White Men Together records
The collection consists of the organizational records of the International Association of Black and White Men Togther; National Association of Black and White Men Together; and regional chapters of Black and White Men Together (BWMT), Men of All Colors Together (MACT), and People of All Colors Together (PACT), 1981-2014. BWMT, MACT, and PACT engage in educational, political, cultural and social activities as a means of dealing with racism, sexism, homophobia, and HIV/AIDS discrimination.
Frank Milton McCoy papers
Writings, correspondence, clippings, photographs, organizational records, flyers, notes, and other personal papers, 1946-1997, from African-American writer, musician, and educator Frank Milton McCoy. Materials in the collection document his career as a concert pianist and music educator in Los Angeles. Included is McCoy's book, Black Tomorrow (Vantage Press, 1976), which examines the evolution and influence of music in African-American culture.
